Tori Moorby is New Zealand’s undisputed queen of the javelin. A nine-time national champion and the current national record holder, she made her Olympic debut at Paris 2024 and has twice represented Aotearoa at the World Championships. Add a 6th-place finish at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and three Diamond League podiums - it’s clear Tori belongs on the world stage.
With a focus on LA 2028, the road to get there will take discipline and backing. The Aotearoa Athletics Trust is proud to support Tori as she continues to (literally) throw everything at her performance.
“I’m incredibly grateful to be one of the first recipients of an Athletics Aotearoa Trust grant. This grant has been a game-changer, allowing me to compete and train in Europe with a lot less financial pressure, therefore greater peace of mind to focus on my performance. This grant doesn't only signify financial support, but also belief in my journey and for that, I am deeply thankful.”
Off the field, Tori is a mentor, leader, and lifelong learner. At St Peter’s Cambridge, she heads the Performance Excellence Pathway, guiding aspiring student-athletes in their own pursuit of greatness. She also mentors senior students and is currently completing online study with the Holistic Performance Institute, deepening her expertise in stress, sleep, and women’s health.
