A multiple-time national champion and 2024 Oceania Champion, Alison continues to perform on the international stage, most recently reaching the semi-finals at the 2026 World Indoor Championships. With a depth of experience that spans from World Juniors to NCAA success and senior international competition, Alison is firmly established among the country’s leading 800m athletes.

Her journey has taken her from rural Wairarapa to the global stage. As a standout in the NCAA system, she claimed the Division II indoor 800m title in 2022 and set the outdoor 800m record—laying the foundation for her transition into senior international competition. Now balancing elite performance with full-time work, Alison continues to push her limits while representing New Zealand with pride, including captaining the national team at the 2024 Oceania Championships.

The Aotearoa Athletics Trust is proud to support Alison as she continues her pursuit of excellence on the world stage.

“Since I graduated from university in 2022, I’ve been a self-funded athlete balancing full time work, training at an elite level, and travel for competition. Having the support of the Aotearoa Athletics Trust this year means so much as it gives me the financial ability to make better decisions for my athletics career. I am truly honoured to accept a grant given the calibre of athletes who apply. It feels great to have the belief of the Trust behind me as I chase my 2028 LA Olympic dreams.”

Alison is equally driven in her professional life. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Baylor University and a Master of Public Health from Simon Fraser University. She now works as a Project Manager within the operations team at Optima Living, the largest seniors’ care provider in Western Canada. Raised in a busy family of five children in rural Wairarapa, she brings a grounded, hard-working approach to everything she does—balanced with a well-earned appreciation for a good flat white.
